Some things definitely still the same! This month has been pretty crazy - like almost every other! We kicked off the month by going to Temple Square. Let me tell you, almost nothing on this earth is as beautiful as Temple Square at Christmas time, and no peace exists quite as much in any other place. And for me, almost nothing touches my heart as much as listening to the bagpipes playing my favorite carols. Seriously, tears come to my eyes every time I hear those bagpipes, it must be something in my Scottish heritage.
Kevin's birthday soon arrived on December 16th - the big 28!! Let me tell you how much I love that boy. I wanted to plan something special for us, so I decided we would head to Park City for a night away. We started with ice skating. A little something about me and ice skating. I haven't tried it since Anthony Craig's eighth birthday party. And it was terrible. I had to use one of those humiliating push bars - humiliating because I was the only one incapable of skating on my own. Ice skating as a twenty-one year old wasn't much different. The bad news: I was still only slightly less inept this time around. Four year olds were literally passing me by with ridiculous ease. The good news: At least this time I had a wonderfully handsome boy with me the whole time - he held my hand without fail and coached and encouraged me on with the patience of a saint. I have never loved him more. He is everything I need, and he helped me face one of my big fears! I am proud to announce that I only fell once (largely because I was too afraid to move most of the time) and, by the end of the night, I actually was doing pretty ok! I still couldn't let go of Kevin's hand though. But then again, why would I want to? :) Kevin, of course, was also putting me to complete shame - doing 360s and whatnot while I sat on the side. I swear he missed his life calling as a speed skater.

From there we went to Red Rock and then the Yarrow Hotel for the night. It was amazingly wonderful to get away and relax for the night, we both needed it desperately! In the morning we sped to Provo for the BYU v. Baylor basketball game - disappointing loss, but great great game.
Then we went bowling at BYU with my sister Becca and her kids (we missed Jesse, Mere, Steve and Hadley though!). Kevin won, surprise surprise. But only by one point! We said goodbye and ran over to Red Robin to have dinner with Kevin's brother and sister, Ryan and Brittany, and her boyfriend Cameron. Red Robin...... YUM! We then headed to Brittany's apartment for cake, games and a movie. Sadly, Kevin got an awful migraine at about 11pm and threw up 9 times, yikes. A not so great end to a birthday, I know. But I think, all in all, I deserve an A+ for secrecy and execution because everything else was pretty perfect if you ask me :)
In other news, I got an award at work!! Hooray! Thanks to my boss for being so great and helping me be my best self!
Christmas is our next adventure, and its hard to believe that it is just around the corner! I've had my shopping done since October, but I've hardly had a minute to breathe lately - with work consuming half of my life and being too exhausted during other half to get much done at all, Christmas still seems like it should be weeks away! Plus, it hardly feels like Christmas without snow :/ We leave on Friday to California and then on Saturday for our Mexico Christmas cruise with Kevin's family. Hopefully we'll get some relaxation time in, and gear up for 2012! So until we return, a Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
